Haslem: Ayton always wants to shoot his distance. He won t have the ball right.
Recently, former NBA player Haslem talked about Lakers center Ayton on his personal podcast program "The OGs".
Looking ahead to Ayton's prospects in the Lakers, Haslem is not optimistic: "I like DeAndre Ayton, but he always wants to run to his attack position and then do fake back baskets," Haslem said. "โฆHe won't get the ball. You have to run, take the air relay and do a good job of defense. The ball will be passed to Luca (Doncic), then at LeBron (James) and Austin Reeves. No one will give him the ball and let him shoot from the middle distance.
" It's not that he can't do it, but it's not the way to get their best players to play at their best, nor is it what they need. I like his height because they need height. They need a basket protector. โ
