German media: Protest again! Bayern fans continued to hold banners last night to oppose Boateng s return as a trainee

In Bayern's 4-0 home victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League last night, the South Stand team once again displayed a banner to oppose the return of former player Boateng to the club as a trainee.

Boateng and Bayern head coach Kompany have recently publicly stated that Boateng will go to Bayern for an internship and he will observe some of the team's training sessions. A club spokesman later explained that they would approve the matter.

Many fans are dissatisfied with this move. The reason for their opposition is the long-term court case against Boateng: he is accused of inflicting physical harm and humiliation on his ex-girlfriend. After a six-year trial, Boateng was sentenced to a fine of 200,000 euros, but it was only a conditional suspended sentence. In addition, he was also given a warning by the competent court. A warning is a formal note of misconduct, but legally Boateng is considered to have no criminal record.

In last weekend's Bundesliga match against Dortmund, Bayern fans had already sent out a banner with the message "Whoever gives the perpetrator space will share his responsibility - Boateng, get out."

In last night's game against Club Brugge, fans also used slogans to express their protest. A banner in the south stand read: "Against abuse of power and physical and mental violence in (close) relationships", while notes distributed around the stadium had the same message printed on them.

In response to this matter last weekend, Bayern Sports Director Eberl already stated: "This is not a job, this is not a fixed position at Bayern Munich. This is just about watching training sessions. That's it. We will approve it. We think this is not a problem."

CEO Drayson admitted that this was a "complex case", but he advocated the opportunity to "reintegrate into society."
