According to official reports from the Spanish Football Association, Kalanca served as the technical director of development.

In order to further improve the field of competitive, maintain the world's top level and continue to succeed, the SFC decided to include Kalanka in its organizational structure, and he will serve as the technical director of the development of the men's adult national team. As a result, Kalanka returned to the Spanish Football Association after experiencing a brilliant and outstanding coaching career.

Kalanka is well versed in the operating model of the SFE. He served as the head coach of the U16 national team from 2008 to 2010, and participated in the training of many young players who were later promoted to the adult team. In those years, under the guidance of the Spanish Football Association, he fully absorbed the training concept of the national team's youth training system.

Between 2010 and 2013, he served as an assistant coach at Real Madrid Football Club, adding to the team's honor book. This experience prompted him to take a key step. In November 2013, he officially became the head coach of Middlesbrough until March 2017, leading the English team to the Premier League and establishing a clear tactical concept.

In addition, in England, he has also taken charge of Nottingham Forest and Birmingham, and then landed in Granada and coached for nine months. His most recent coaching experience was in Tel Aviv Maccabi, Israel, not only leading the team to the European Cup, but also entering the semi-finals of the Israeli Cup.

It should be emphasized that since 2020, Kalanca has also served as UEFA Technical Observer. He has offered master classes for the new coach at the UEFA Nyon headquarters and contributed to the development and evolution of European football at the highest level. He also participated in the analysis of the research on major UEFA events such as the Champions League, the European Cup, and the European League, established extensive contacts with international football, and maintained close cooperation with European football management agencies.

After this appointment, Kalanka will immediately join the technical department of the SFE and maintain direct and continuous collaboration with national team coach Dela Fuente and other technical personnel of the Football Association. After fifteen years, Kalanka returned to the Western Football Association, which has always regarded him as his home, and here he is opening his arms to welcome his return.
