Official: Levante signs 33-year-old Australian national goalkeeper Matthew Ryan, signs a contract of 1+1 year

Levante officially announced that it would sign Australian goalkeeper Matthew Ryan, and both sides signed a contract of 1+1 year.

33-year-old Ryan was born in Sydney and grew up in the youth training system of Blacktown and Central Coast Mariners, and made his debut in the Australian top league in the 2010-11 season.

He transferred to Bruges in 2013 and made his first appearance in Spanish football by joining Valencia in 2015. Two years later, in January 2017, he returned to Belgium on loan to play for Henk. After the season, he officially joined Brighton to compete in the Premier League and was loaned to Arsenal in January 2021.

Matthew Ryan played again in La Liga through Real Sociedad in 2021-22, and then played for Copenhagen and Alkmaar. In the last season, he played for Roma and Lens.

Ryan is a standing international player of the Australian national team. He once represented the Kangaroos in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Ryan will meet with his new teammates tomorrow.
