Barcelona officially announced a sponsorship agreement with the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which was previously reported to be worth about 44 million euros. The content of the announcement is as follows:
FC Barcelona and the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo announced a four-year strategic partnership aimed at promoting football, sports culture and peace. The agreement marks the joint commitment of both parties to promote the development of several sports events in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As part of the collaboration, Club Barcelona will contribute to enriching the training of young athletes in the country by conveying its values, a fundamental pillar of Barcelona’s model and style.
Barcelona Football Club will create and develop a series of sports activities for children in the region through the Barcelona Academy system, including training camps and training camps to cover a number of key disciplines such as football, basketball, handball, futsal and roller skating hockey, achieving structured and inclusive development. In addition, the Barcelona Innovation Centre (BIHUB) will develop specialized courses for adults, deploy coaching training programs to develop talents, and expand the knowledge of these professionals based on Barcelona's approach to: advanced technical training, construction of sports structures by age, integration of sports science, and joint organizations of sports events and training camps.
According to the agreement reached by FC Barcelona and the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, all professional teams of the club will wear the "RD Congo - Coeur d 'Afrique" logo on the back of the training suits for the next four seasons (until the 2028/29 season) and will become a global partner called "Official Empowerment Partnership for Sports and Culture".
The agreement will also be presented in future Espai Barça events, as the "DRC House" is expected to open at the new site of the Camp Nou Stadium in Spotify. The House of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be an immersive exhibition that welcomes visitors to the stadium to showcase the cultural diversity and sporting traditions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, aiming to strengthen ties with this Central African country. The exhibition aims to attract millions of visitors around the world and football club fans of Barcelona, and through interactive exhibitions, the richness and diversity of the Congolese cultural and sporting heritage is designed to strengthen ties with this Central African country.
