Milan Mayor Sara talked about the sale of San Siro and Marotta's previous remarks at the unveiling ceremony of the memorial plaque commemorating Elio Fiorucci in the city's Pasarella promenade.

He said: "This is a decision that will determine the future of Milan and must be judged from a long-term perspective, but I don't want to say anything to anyone anymore. This is also exhausting me, but I feel that I have a clear conscience because I have poured all my professional skills and determination."

He added: "I don't make predictions. It depends on everyone's conscience. I don't think Inter Milan's remarks about San Siro are a threat."

"It's obvious that the two clubs are likely to leave Milan, but I think the city council should make a decision completely autonomously at this moment. I have a clear conscience and I have done everything I should do. When making a decision, the members have to evaluate a lot of things, of course, the contract and the process of making the contract. Then there is the future of Milan."
