Unable to direct from the sidelines! Every body: Barcelona’s appeal was rejected, Flick missed the El Clasico

According to the "Daily Sports" report, the Spanish Sports Arbitration Court TAD has officially rejected Barcelona's application for a preventive injunction for Flick and maintained the original one-match suspension penalty. Flick will definitely not be able to command the team on the spot in this week's national derby.

Flick was sent off by referee Hill Manzano in last weekend's home game against Girona. The referee's report stated that the reason was that Flick "protested by applause against a penalty of mine."

The Barcelona club was "very dissatisfied" with this penalty and believed that the red card penalty was "completely disproportionate" considering Flick's gesture at the time. The club appealed to the Competition Committee and the Appeals Committee but were rejected, and finally appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAD) but failed.

As the club seems to have anticipated this result, they announced on Friday that assistant coach Marcus Sorg will replace Flick at Saturday's pre-match press conference. With the TAD's final ruling, Sorg will also be in charge of the side at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Reports pointed out that this is not the first time that Solger has taken on acting coaching duties. When Flick was suspended for two games due to being sent off against Betis at the end of 2024, Solger directed the games against Leganes and Atletico Madrid.
