Lefly talks about the Mavericks low probability of winning the No. 1 pick: It was a crazy moment and I am grateful for it
Today, Mavericks center Levley was interviewed and talked about the Mavericks' draw with a low probability this year.
"It was a crazy moment, we were grateful. We welcomed him with open arms (Frager). I called him early and he always had a smile on his face and joked. So, I wanted to try to make him comfortable and give him anything to rely on in the details. Because I remember how scared I was when I was in his place (meaning in the draft)," Lefley said.
The Mavericks won the No. 1 pick with a 1.8% chance, and then they chose Flag. Lefley and Flag are Duke University alumni.
